LAURAVL Conference on Competition Goals and Strategy

At the beginning of November, Aquilae – Performance Paragliding Academy had the pleasure of hosting an evening event organized by the new team in charge of competition within the Ligue Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes de Vol Libre. Until now, the AURAVL league has focused its efforts on the league team hosting pilots under the age of 26. The new Olympiad is an opportunity to breathe new life and impetus into competition..

The initial idea was to extend the league’s competition activities to new audiences. Beginners and senior pilots are now considered, in addition to youngsters. To mark the start of this new cycle, Aquilae – Performance Paragliding Academy was asked to deliver a conference open to all pilots, on a subject that would appeal to everyone, whatever their level and practice.

We chose a seasonal topic: goal setting and, once defined, the strategies to adopt. With the active participation of the forty or so participants, we reviewed the different types of objectives. We discussed the value of setting them, and then a method for defining and following them. Once this stage had been completed, it was only natural to move on to the subject of flight strategy. We saw the range of possibilities and which ones to use, depending on your personal stage of progress.

The evening ended with a pleasant moment of conviviality over toast and a glass of friendship. Whether it was the content of the presentation or the quality of the petits fours, the audience left smiling and motivated to prepare effectively for the new season!
