FFVL Federal Paragliding Instructor Training Session

In August 2025, the Normandy Free Flight League, in collaboration with the FFVL, organized a federal paragliding instructor training session that brought together enthusiasts from all over France. Aquilae, as a partner organization, had the privilege of participating in the supervision of this intense, demanding, and deeply human session.

Feedback from student instructors, collected via a satisfaction survey, attests to a rich learning experience, supported by a committed teaching team and content tailored to the realities of the field.

A training course highly rated by student instructors

The figures speak for themselves:

  • 60% of participants say they are very satisfied with the training, and 40% are satisfied.
  • The educational content is considered very satisfactory by 90% of respondents.
  • The competence of the instructors is unanimously recognized: 70% “very satisfied,” 20% “somewhat satisfied.”
  • The format and duration of the training are generally well received, although some expressed a desire for it to be longer or to include a break.

What the student instructors appreciated most

Qualitative feedback highlights several strengths:

  • The alternation between theory and practice, allowing for gradual immersion.
  • The wealth of supervisory profiles and the diversity of flight sites.
  • The andragogical approach, tailored to an adult audience, with concrete tools to structure the sessions.
  • The teaching methodology, tested in a wide variety of situations.
  • The working atmosphere, marked by commitment, listening, and kindness.

“I learned a lot and I feel confident about putting it into practice.”

“The training was intense, but appropriate. Thank you for the very informative discussions.”

A strong commitment to community involvement

The student instructors did not come here by chance: all of them are already involved or wish to become more involved in the FFVL’s community activities. Federal instructors, safety instructors, steering committee members, club-school supervisors… the next generation is here, motivated and trained.

“Being an instructor will allow me to carry out local initiatives, such as setting up introductory and advanced training courses.”

Aquilae, a committed player in federal training

By participating in this session, Aquilae reaffirmed its commitment alongside the FFVL to demanding, humane, and forward-looking training. Aquilae contributed to passing on concrete know-how, supporting student instructors in their teaching approach, and bringing the values of free flight to life.

We warmly thank all the student instructors, trainees, and supervisors for their involvement, energy, and constructive feedback. Together, we are advancing the quality of teaching in our discipline.
